Payment Methods for Event Registration

Payment for event tickets is collected at registration using the same payment infrastructure as standard donations.
Supported Payment Methods
Method | Available When |
Credit / debit card | Always available (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) |
ACH / bank transfer | Organization has ACH enabled on their account |
Apple Pay / Google Pay | Organization has digital wallets enabled; supported browser/device required |
Free tickets ($0) skip the payment step entirely — no payment method is collected.
Fee Coverage
Fee coverage behavior is controlled by event or organization-level settings:

Default to covered | Fee coverage checkbox is pre-checked; donor can opt out |
Require fee cover | Fee is always added; no checkbox is shown to the donor |
Neither | Organization absorbs the fee; donor pays face value only |
⚠ Things to Watch For
ACH payments take 3–5 business days to clear. For events with a near-term date, advise clients to communicate this to donors or disable ACH on the event.
Mixed-price registrations (some paid, some free tickets) still require payment for the paid portion.
Fee coverage applies to the total ticket amount plus any add-on donation, not per ticket.
