Setting Up Ticket Types
Last updated: February 25, 2026
Ticket types define what registrants can select when signing up for an event. Each event needs at least one ticket type before donors can register.
How to Add a Ticket Type
Open the event and go to the Tickets tab
Click Add Ticket Type
Fill in the ticket details (see fields below)
Click Save
Repeat for each ticket type you want to offer (e.g., General Admission, VIP, Staff).
Ticket Type Fields
Field | Description |
Name | Displayed to the donor during registration (e.g., "General Admission") |
Description | Optional. Additional detail shown beneath the ticket name. |
Price | Set to $0 for a free ticket |
Capacity | Optional per-ticket-type cap. Leave blank for unlimited. |
Max Per Registration | Limits how many of this ticket type a single registrant can purchase |
Visible | Toggle off to hide a ticket type without deleting it |
Paid vs. Free Tickets
An event can have a mix of paid and free ticket types. If a registrant selects only free tickets, they are not prompted for payment information.
Reordering Ticket Types
Ticket types display in the order they are listed. Drag and drop to reorder them on the Tickets tab.
⚠ Things to Watch For
Deleting a ticket type is permanent and will remove it from any existing registrations that haven't been completed. Use the Visible toggle to hide a ticket type instead.
There is no way to change a ticket type from paid to free after registrations have been submitted against it.
If all ticket types are at capacity, the registration page shows a sold-out state. See Capacity Limits and Sold-Out Behavior.
