WeGive Native Waivers
Last updated: February 25, 2026
WeGive native waivers are simple in-platform waivers that require a registrant to read and accept terms before completing registration. No external service is required.
How to Set Up a Native Waiver
Open the event and go to the Waivers tab
Click Add Waiver and select WeGive Waiver
Enter the waiver title and body text
Choose the acceptance method (see below)
Save
Acceptance Methods
Method | What the Registrant Does |
Checkbox | Checks a box confirming they have read and agree |
Typed signature | Types their full name as a signature |
What Gets Recorded
When a registrant completes the waiver, WeGive records:
The waiver text shown at the time of signing
The acceptance method used
The timestamp
The registrant's name and email
This is stored on the registration and included in the registration detail view.
⚠ Things to Watch For
Native waivers are not legally equivalent to a notarized or witnessed signature. For events requiring formal legal agreements, use DocuSign instead.
Editing the waiver text after registrants have already signed does not alter existing records — the original text is preserved per registration.
There is no way to export waiver signatures in bulk. They must be viewed per registration or via the CSV export (which includes a waiver completion flag but not the full text).
