Last updated: February 25, 2026
How to Create an Event
Go to Engagements > Events
Click New Event
Fill in the event details (see fields below)
Click Save
After saving, you'll be taken to the event detail page where you can add ticket types, custom questions, waivers, and configure emails.
Event Fields
Field | Description |
Name | Public-facing event name |
Description | Shown on the registration page. Supports rich text. |
Start Date / Time | When the event begins |
End Date / Time | When the event ends |
Location | Physical address or virtual meeting link |
Image | Banner image shown on the registration page |
Access Type | Controls who can register. See Access Types. |
Capacity | Optional overall attendance cap. Leave blank for unlimited. |
What Happens After You Save
The event is created in Draft status. It is not visible to donors until you publish it.
To publish: open the event and click Publish. The registration page becomes live immediately.
⚠ Things to Watch For
Changing the event name after publishing does not update the URL slug. The original slug is preserved.
There is no built-in event duplication tool. To reuse an event, you'll need to create a new one manually.
If the event has no ticket types added, donors cannot complete registration even if the event is published.
